のみます飲みますnomimasu	to drink
まいあさコーヒーをのみます。Maiasa koohii wo nomimasu.I drink coffee every morning.
すいますsuimasu	To smoke
わたしはタバコをすいません。Watashi wa tabako wo suimasen.I don't smoke.
みます見ますmimasu	To see, look at, watch
まいばんテレビをみます。Maiban terebi wo mimasu.I watch television every night.
ききます聞きますkikimasu	To hear, listen
まいばんラジオをききます。Maiban rajio wo kikimasu.I listen to the radio every night.
よみます読みますyomimasu	To read
このほんをよみます。Kono hon wo yomimasu.I read this book.
かきます書きますkakimasu	To write (can also mean to draw or paint)
てがみをかきます。Tegami wo kakimasu.I write a letter.
かいます買いますkaimasu	To buy
スーパーでやさいをかいます。Suupaa de yasai wo kaimasu.I buy vegetables at the supermarket.
とります撮りますtorimasu	to take [a photo] (≠ to pick up, pass, from L14 — same reading)
しゃしんをとります。Shashin wo torimasu.I take a photograph.
しますshimasu	To do, play (≠ to make, produce, from L15)
まいにちべんきょうをします。Mainichi benkyou wo shimasu.I do my studying every day.
あいますaimasu	to meet
ともだちとあいます。Tomodachi to aimasu.I meet a friend.
ともだちにあいます友達に会いますtomodachi ni aimasu	to meet up with friends
にちようびに ともだちに あいます。Nichiyoubi ni tomodachi ni aimasu.On Sunday I am meeting my friends.
ごはんご飯gohan	a meal, cooked rice
まいにち、うちで ごはんを たべます。Mainichi, uchi de gohan wo tabemasu.I eat my meals at home every day.
あさごはん朝ご飯asagohan	breakfast
しちじに あさごはんを たべます。Shichiji ni asagohan wo tabemasu.I eat breakfast at seven.
ひるごはん昼ご飯hirugohan	lunch
じゅうにじに ひるごはんを たべます。Juuniji ni hirugohan wo tabemasu.I eat lunch at twelve.
ばんごはん晩ご飯bangohan	dinner, supper
はちじに ばんごはんを たべます。Hachiji ni bangohan wo tabemasu.I eat dinner at eight.

まいあさくだものをたべます。Maiasa kudamono wo tabemasu.I eat fruit every morning.
みず水mizu	water
みずをください。Mizu wo kudasai.Give me water, please.
おちゃお茶ocha	tea, green tea
いっしょにおちゃをのみませんか。Issho ni ocha wo nomimasen ka.Shall we have some tea together?

ぎゅうにゅうgyuunyuu	Cow's milk

てがみ手紙tegami	letter
ともだちにてがみをかきます。Tomodachi ni tegami wo kakimasu.I write a letter to my friend.
レポートrepooto	report
こんばん、レポートを かきます。Konban, repooto wo kakimasu.Tonight I will write the report.
しゃしん写真shashin	photograph
しゃしんをとります。Shashin wo torimasu.I take a photograph.
ビデオbideo	video [tape], video deck
うちで ビデオを みます。Uchi de bideo wo mimasu.I watch a video at home.
みせ店mise	shop, store
あのみせで コーヒーを のみましょう。Ano mise de koohii wo nomimashou.Let's have coffee at that shop.
にわ庭niwa	garden
にわで しゃしんを とります。Niwa de shashin wo torimasu.I take photos in the garden.
しゅくだい宿題shukudai	homework (〜をします: to do homework)
うちでしゅくだいをします。Uchi de shukudai wo shimasu.I do my homework at home.
テニスtenisu	tennis (〜をします: to play tennis)
