Nihongo Sensei is designed to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do.
Your progress, preferences, mastery levels, and quiz statistics are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us for any study or personalization purpose.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs of any kind.
The app does not require account creation, login, or any personal information to use the free or Premium content.
Premium is offered as an auto-renewing annual subscription. All payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never receive or store your payment card details.
To verify your subscription status and, where applicable, eligibility for limited-time promotions (such as our launch offer for the first 100 users), the app sends Apple's App Store transaction identifier for your purchase to our verification service, hosted on Supabase. This identifier is a technical token tied to your App Store account — it is not your name, email, or payment information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. It is used solely to confirm subscription status and prevent the same promotional offer from being claimed more than once.
