These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Nihongo Sensei mobile application ("the App"), published by Paul Campos Gil ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Nihongo Sensei is an educational application for learning Japanese, organized lesson by lesson (Lessons 1–30, JLPT N5–N4 level) following the standard beginner Japanese curriculum. It provides vocabulary drills, kanji and kana study tools, grammar reference, and a spaced-repetition study system. The App is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any textbook publisher.
2. Free Content and In-App Purchases
The course material is free: all 30 lessons, the vocabulary with audio, the example sentences, the kanji and the kana. There are no ads and no account is required.
The App also offers optional in-app purchases that unlock additional features: the Dojo training rooms and the guided classes from Lesson 4 onwards. The first three guided classes are included at no cost. Purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play, and the current price and any introductory offer are shown there before you confirm.
Content that has already been unlocked on your device is not withdrawn by later versions of the App.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for its intended educational purpose, and not to attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the App's operation or fair use by other users.
4. Intellectual Property
The App's design, code, and original content (including example sentences, the Memory Engine, and UI) are our property. Vocabulary and grammar structures reference publicly documented Japanese-language curricula for educational purposes.
5. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will result in any particular learning outcome.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
