はきます履きますhakimasu	To wear on the feet
くつをはきます。Kutsu wo hakimasu.I wear (put on) my shoes.
かぶりますkaburimasu	To wear on the head
ぼうしをかぶります。Boushi wo kaburimasu.I wear (put on) my hat.
めがねをかけますmegane wo kakemasu	To wear glasses
めがねを かけているひとは ちちです。Megane wo kakete iru hito wa chichi desu.The person wearing glasses is my father.
ネクタイをしますnekutai wo shimasu	To wear a tie
ネクタイを しているひとは やまださんです。Nekutai wo shite iru hito wa Yamada-san desu.The one wearing a tie is Mr. Yamada.
うまれます生まれますumaremasu	to be born
とうきょうでうまれました。Toukyou de umaremashita.I was born in Tokyo.
わたしたちwatashitachi	We, us
わたしたちは にほんごの がくせいです。Watashitachi wa nihongo no gakusei desu.We are students of Japanese.
コートkooto	coat
さむいからコートをきます。Samui kara kooto wo kimasu.Since it's cold, I put on my coat.
セーターseetaa	sweater
セーターをきています。Seetaa wo kiteimasu.I'm wearing a sweater.
スーツsuutsu	suit
これは かいしゃで きるスーツです。Kore wa kaisha de kiru suutsu desu.This is the suit I wear to the office.
ぼうし帽子boushi	hat, cap
ぼうしをかぶっています。Boushi wo kabutteimasu.He's wearing the hat.
めがねmegane	glasses
めがねをかけています。Megane wo kakete imasu.He wears glasses.
ケーキkeeki	cake
たんじょうびにケーキをかいました。Tanjoubi ni keeki wo kaimashita.I bought a cake for the birthday.
おべんとうお弁当obentou	boxed lunch, packed meal
まいにちおべんとうをもってきます。Mainichi obentou wo mottekimasu.I bring a boxed lunch every day.
ロボットrobotto	robot
これはロボットがつくったくるまです。Kore wa robotto ga tsukutta kuruma desu.This is a car made by robots.
ユーモアyuumoa	humor
かれはユーモアがあります。Kare wa yuumoa ga arimasu.He has a sense of humor.
つごう都合tsugou	convenience
つごうはどうですか。Tsugou wa dou desu ka.How is your convenience? (Does that suit you?)
えーとeeto	well, umm, let me see
えーと、それは さんぜんえんです。Eeto, sore wa sanzen en desu.Um… that's three thousand yen.
おめでとうございますomedetou gozaimasu	Congratulations!
おたんじょうびおめでとうございます。O-tanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu.Congratulations on your birthday!
どんなをおさがしですかdonna ~ wo o-sagashi desu ka	What kind of ~ are you looking for?
どんなかばんをおさがしですか。Donna kaban wo o-sagashi desu ka.What kind of bag are you looking for?
じゃ／ではja/dewa	Well then, in that case (casual and formal forms)
じゃ、またあした。Ja, mata ashita.Well then, see you tomorrow.
やちん家賃yachin	rent
このへやのやちんはいくらですか。Kono heya no yachin wa ikura desu ka.How much is the rent for this room?
ダイニングキッチンdainingu kicchin	kitchen with a dining area
わたしのうちにダイニングキッチンがあります。Watashi no uchi ni dainingu kicchin ga arimasu.My home has an eat-in kitchen.
わしつ和室washitsu	Japanese-style room
わしつでやすみます。Washitsu de yasumimasu.I rest in the Japanese-style room.
おしいれ押し入れoshiire	Japanese-style closet
ふとんは おしいれの なかに あります。Futon wa oshiire no naka ni arimasu.The futon is inside the closet.
ふとん布団futon	Japanese-style mattress and quilt
ふとんでねます。Futon de nemasu.I sleep on a futon (Japanese-style mattress).
ジャケットjaketto	jacket (the Western garment; ≠ outer garment, from L17)
ジャケットをきます。Jaketto wo kimasu.I put on the jacket.

• そとで する スポーツが すきです。soto de suru supootsu ga suki desu.I like outdoor sports.
