あつめます集めますatsumemasu	to collect, gather
きってをあつめています。Kitte wo atsumete imasu.I collect stamps.
すてます捨てますsutemasu	to throw away

にっき日記nikki	diary
まいにちにっきをかきます。Mainichi nikki wo kakimasu.I write in the diary every day.
おいのりoinori	prayer (〜をします: to pray)
まいあさ、おいのりを します。Maiasa, oinori wo shimasu.I pray every morning.
かちょう課長kachou	section head
かちょうはどこですか。Kachou wa doko desu ka.Where's the section chief?
ぶちょう部長buchou	department head
ぶちょうはたいせつなひとです。Buchou wa taisetsuna hito desu.The department manager is an important person.
しゃちょう社長shachou	company president
しゃちょうのへやはよんかいです。Shachou no heya wa yonkai desu.The president's office is on the fourth floor.
どうぶつ動物doubutsu	animal
このどうぶつえんにはいろいろなどうぶつがいます。Kono doubutsuen ni wa iroiro na doubutsu ga imasu.There are several animals in this zoo.

わたしは うまに のることが できます。Watashi wa uma ni noru koto ga dekimasu.I can ride a horse.

とくにtokuni	especially
にほんの たべものが すきです。とくに、さしみが すきです。Nihon no tabemono ga suki desu. tokuni, sashimi ga suki desu.I like Japanese food. Especially sashimi.
へえhee	What! Really! (used when expressing surprise)
しゅみは ふるいおかねを あつめることです。へえ、おもしろいですね。Shumi wa furui okane wo atsumeru koto desu. hee, omoshiroi desu ne.My hobby is collecting old coins. — What! Really? Interesting!

なかなかnakanaka	not easily (used with negatives)
かんじは なかなかおぼえることが できません。Kanji wa nakanaka oboeru koto ga dekimasen.I can't easily memorize kanji.
ほんとうですかhontou desu ka	Really?
あした、にほんへ いきます。ほんとうですか。Ashita, nihon e ikimasu. hontou desu ka.I'm going to Japan tomorrow. — Really?
ぜひzehi	by all means, really
ぜひいっしょにいきましょう。Zehi issho ni ikimashou.Let's go together, by all means.
サッカーsakkaa	football
サッカーができます。Sakkaa ga dekimasu.I can play football.
